I've never had a decent way to store the bajillion cards that I make. They have been stuffed in odd size boxes, clam shells and never organized. I decided to make a box, it measures 17.5" x 7.5" x 5.5" high.
Thought I would share a little pictorial of the making of the box. All supplies are from Hollander's. You can see my previous post of box making here.
Box is made of heavy weight Davy board, or book board.
The inside is covered in handmade banana paper, feels like velvet.
Covering the lid in heavily embossed paper.

Yummy oversized papers from Hollanders.

And finally, I have some organized storage for my cards, and a better idea of what I have in supply.
How do you store your crafty items? Organization can be a dilemma for me.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful week!

I have a hard time organizing too...just when I feel that I am..I have to go back and re-organize. I love this box

That's a jolly nice box! Clever you - I'm still thinking about branching out into box-making, as it would be nice to be able to offer a matching box or slip-cover for the books I make. I think you did a great job there and it is beautiful. What a joy, to store your cards in a purpose-made container!
My storage is in a state of constant flux. I have a pile of pizza boxes (real ones, but only used for paper), where my 12" papers live. I store other scrapbooking supplies in assorted plastic cartons/boxes and a few cardboard ones. I have some very handy shoe-boxes that hold blank cards, for card-making. Book-binding papers live in a set of A1 (33/23ins) art storage bags, with handles and seal-up tops. These sit on the bottom shelf of my cupboard. All the paper is sorted by type and its use (eg. wedding papers), with clear labels - organised for once! The remainder of my bookbinding tools and supplies are in an assortment of containers. I haven't quite got that straight yet. I'm getting there though... gradually!
If you made yourself a set of boxes, just think how fabulous your craft-area would look!
